.30 cents per sticky flag? Really? I was expecting something more than cheap 'post note flags' I was expecting something more than 36 cheap flags for $11 dollars. The picture makes each of the tabs appear like those semi-hard taps we all have seen in professional binders. Not these. These are lightly sticky, and bendable/crease-able. Way too much money for what these are. Even $5 dollars would be pushing it.Update: 08/08/2014I found the tabs that I was expecting these to be for around $15+ shipping. http://diagnostictabs.com/If you compare the two you will understand what you are really buying with product.

I love the transparency of these... sure any tabs will work but the convenience of having these already typed up in an easy to read font is rather nice. I think the price is a bit high, but the usefulness makes splurging worth it... I added some pics of them installed so you can better see the transparency of them... hope it helps with your purchase decision..

I bought these because I couldn't find any other tabs for the DSM-V on here. I appreciate their purpose and it does definitely make it easier to find the sections/chapters in the DSM, however, they are pretty flimsy and I don't know how long they will last. I just put them in my DSM yesterday and some of them are already curling/creasing. The ones I've seen for the DSM-IV are a bit more permanent and sturdy, which is what I was hoping for, however I knew that I was taking a risk and would rather have these than no tabs at all. :)Pros:-Removable!-Easy to use-Clearly marks each sectionCons:-Over priced-Flimsy-May or may not last through the next year.

These are terrible. Not worth $1 let alone $10+.... I expected something better than this. When the DSM-5 came out, I 'tabbed' one for one of my professors (I am the GA at our masters program) and they were well made, sturdy tabs. These tabs? Like scotch tape, with less 'stick'. Go somewhere else... this was not worth it.

Very disappointed with the page markers. I expected tabs for most major sections on such areas as ADHD, Autism, Specific Learning Disorder, etc., and there were only a few markers on the one page that was sent to me. Very overpriced for what I received. I would have been better off using Post-it Note tabs.

The product concept is great - I find it really makes the DSM-V much more usable. That said, these particular tabs are far from great. They are expensive, hard to read (being transparent, you see the tabs below. It is also lacking in contrast if you are working on a dark desktop) and thin/flimsy. The only good things I can say is that they look nice (the tabs are a transparent purple that matches the colors of the DSM) and they are easily repositionable when you are installing them. I also appreciated the four blank tabs that I could set at the diagnoses that I use the most often. I bought them because I thought they would be better than making my own using post-it flags. I'm keeping them but it is a close call.

So they're really useful but they bend and rip off and don't stick well. I've had them on for a month and they already look like they won't last. I'm probably going to have to replace them with other tabs I just write on. I won't buy again.

i ordered NEW stickers, this is what I received instead. see photo. Terrible packaging, used and dirty stickers upon arrival. Very displeased.

I pre-ordered this book from Amazon to get it for my library as quickly as possible because this author's Legend series is hugely popular. Because I pre-ordered it, I had no reviews to read so I had no idea it would be dramatically different from the Legend series. This is a dark, dark book. It makes you feel horrid inside when you read it, and I don't like to feel like that, and I'm positive no middle schoolers need to feel like that. Don't get me wrong, it is gripping and the writing flows, but it has no soul. I only remember 1 cuss word, and there is not a lot of sexual content, but the whole feel of the book is soul-less, violent, and darkly sensual. I can't think of a better word to describe it than dark - not bleak, not gloomy, not despairing, just a deep darkness. Parents - watch out for this one.

After enjoying Marie Lu's Legend series, I was excited to dive into The Young Elites. The story opens with Adelina Amouteru, a survivor of the blood fever. Once considered a beautiful and desirable girl her father could marry off, Adelina was marked by the blood fever. Her dark hair turned silver and she lost her eye to the fever, only leaving a scar on her face. Her father has since never treated her as well as her sister, Violetta and constantly reminds her that she is marked, a malfetto. A series of events and a betrayal from her family leads Adelina straight to the Young Elites, a group of survivors of the blood fever with special abilities. As Adelina delves deeper into the world of the Young Elites she discovers her own powers and considers the trustworthiness of this new group.While the premise wasn't incredibly original to me, Adelina was the character who intrigued me. How many books have you read with a character who imagines such a bloodthirsty, violent revenge? In my case, not many. Adelina wants those who wronged her to suffer and she does not imagine any mercy. Adelina is dark, villainous and yet I rooted for her the entire book, even if it made me slightly uncomfortable to do so at times. Throughout the book it is hinted that she has a 'darkness' in her and that she can't be trusted. While we only got a glimpse of this power, it is both intriguing and powerful, and Adelina relishes the power she possess.Like I mentioned above, the idea of a world catastrophe with emerging young people with strange powers is a trope I've seen before. It also happens to be one of my favorite tropes because I am a sucker for discovering all these characters with unique powers. Some can control elements like fire and wind, while some can make objects disappear and reappear in another location. While I don't want to go into detail for Adelina's power, know that it is versatile, original and probably more powerful than we realize at this point in the story so far.As far as supporting characters, there are a few important ones to note:Enzo is the leader of the Dagger Society, or the group of Young Elites that Adelina discovers. Enzo is distant, interesting and definitely has an agenda of his own. He is fascinated by Adelina's powers, despite repeated warnings that she could be dangerous. There is also a hint of attraction between the two, but I had a hard time trusting his motivations. Adelina's most important priority is herself, so I couldn't get too attached to other characters because I never knew when Adelina could turn on them.Teren is a character I am excited to see more of. While him and Adelina are on opposing sides of this story, I have a feeling he will be an important character in the series. He is responsible for hunting down Adelina and the other Elites, but we soon learn he is harboring a secret of his own.Violetta is Adelina's sister and while their relationship is contentious at times, she is arguably the only character Adelina has any feelings for at all. Unfortunately, Adelina has been hardened by the harsh treatment in her childhood and the prejudice against her for being a malfetto has hardened her heart. Violetta represents the only good part of Adelina that is left and I was pleasantly surprised with her character arc in this book.The ending fell a little flat for me in terms of action, I think I was just hoping for more. Although there were a few surprising twists and turns! I will definitely be reading the next book because I need to know what happens to Adelina. Sure, she has had a pretty terrible life so far, but she is going down a dark path and I personally can't wait to see where it leads. I love the idea of reading about an anti-hero! Adelina makes a lot of questionable decisions throughout the book and it seems like she is starting to succumb to the call of her dark power. Will she continue down this path? Will she get the revenge she desires? Or will Violetta continue to be the voice of her conscience? I am excited to find out!

This book was different then I expected. The protagonist is disturbed. The author did a great job of setting her up for confusion. Adelina was raised by an abusive father. While her sister grew up knowing love and acceptance. Adelina was a disgrace to her household. Her condition made her father business crumble and cost her a normal childhood. Fear and insecurity keep Adelina from being honest with anyone in the story, including herself. I loved her tortured soul. She is faithful to her sister only in this story. The only person in her life who loved her without a motive. Her sister is mostly absent and we learn much about her in Adelina’s memories. People around Adelina find her distant and dangerous.The great conflict in this book comes from someone who has never known love or acceptance. The only one that has ever been kind to her is someone she had to leave behind. Adelina is picked up by the Daggers, part of The Young Elites movement, before she is burned at the stake for having powers. Powers she had only been able to call on one time when she felt threatened. When she is approached by Teren, the leader of the Inquisitioners, and the one who is holding her sister captive. Adelina must choose to support The Young Elites or to turn them in to save her sister.I felt bad for Adelina. She really struggles to do the right thing in this book. The right thing for her, the right thing for the cause, and the right thing for her sister. Adelina doesn’t know which one is right, she only knows she needs to save her sister. Complicating her situation even further is her love interest, Enzo, the leader of the Dagger, a group of The Young Elites. Enzo is the rightful heir to the kingdom of Kenettera. Enzo is a malfetto though Adelina has a really unique gift, but she need The Young Elites to help her learn how to use it. They come along at just the right time to teach her how to use her power.I enjoyed the angsty romance in this book. I didn’t like where it ended, but I can see that there is still hope. I loved the action in this book. I also loved that the protagonist may not be the good guy in this story. The world building was very well done. I could easily imagine the city of Estenzia. Even the clothes the characters wore were well described, making it easy for me to picture. This is a world I want to go back to. I was actually sad when I finished reading this.The only issues I had with this book was that I didn’t see Adelina as a dark person. She is conflicted for sure, but characters kept referencing her dark side. I didn’t really see it. I felt like I was told it about it, and not shown it at all. I am hoping her dark side will be elaborated in the follow up book, The Rose Society. I will definitely be read the next book in this series and more from this author. I am glad I got a chance to read this.

The fantasy world described was fascinating with malfettos and ordinary people. This book had some deeper messages involving how the people treat those who are different from us and how they can hate them. Malfettos acquired skills that were unordinary, more like x-men meet a new world.In some parts of the book it showed through that the writer had not originally meant a woman to be the main character in this book, however it worked well. It was a nice twist in this story that the heroine had faults and was a traitor - or not.

Usually, movie tie-in books are a sorry lot lacking substance and depth in handling their subjects. Not so with this solid volume authored by the film's screenwriter. It packs a lot of pertinent information into its 265 pages, and for those not familiar with the historical background to the film, I think it would prove invaluable. The only problem with the book, if it is indeed a problem, is that the author is arguing a thesis which I doubt the facts support. Let me review the organization of the book first before tackling the thesis.The first chapter sets the historical stage with a discussion of the departure of Neville Chamberlain from serving as Prime Minister in the wake of his policy of appeasement toward Nazi aggression and war breaking out in Europe. The next chapter is a compact but quite effective discussion of Churchill, his background, disasters such as Gallipoli in the First War, reputation for recklessness, and his nearly a decade out of office. Nonetheless, it is to Churchill that Chamberlain and his Foreign Minister, Lord Halifax, turn to assume the role of Prime Minister as disaster increasingly rears its head. Few, including the King, are particularly happy with Winston, but most recognize he is the man to lead Britain during this difficult crisis.His principal antagonist is Lord Halifax who almost immediately begins trying to undermine Churchill. He is devoted to the idea that immediate negotiation, rather than Winston's determination to fight if necessary. is the only way to avoid a destructive conflict with Hitler. The duel intensifies between the two, but Churchill always has strong public support and that of his War Cabinet coalition partners, the Labour Party and the Liberals, The situation becomes particularly worse with the near fall of France and the need to evacuate the core of the British army from Dunkirk.It is at this point that Churchill makes his maiden speech as PM to the House--the famous "blood, toil, tears, and sweat" call to action. The author is particularly effective in analyzing this speech in terms of Winston's rhetorical tactics and how he prepared one of his speeches. However, Halifax and his allies continue to pressure Winston to at least explore possible negotiations with Hitler via Mussolini. Churchill is totally opposed to this tactic, and this is where the author lays out his argument that Winston eventually was beaten down to the point of giving serious consideration to this idea.No historian of which I am aware has ever argued this thesis. Rather, the uniform picture has been a resolute Churchill unwilling to compromise on negotiations and almost defiant. I noticed that in the film, Winston was portrayed as almost a beaten man in these cabinet debates--now I understand why. The author offers no proof to support his argument (most developed in the Epilogue) and a lot of speculation. To me, Churchill was playing for time to see what the French would do and if the Dunkirk evaluation would be successful (it was to the tune of 330,000 troops saved). He did not want to totally reject possible negotiation, or at least give that impression, but it simply was never a reality for him. After consulting with his 25 cabinet minister, he gives the famous "on the beaches" speech and routs Halifax and moves ahead to defend his country, as only he could.I have no problem with the author propounding his thesis because the rest of the book is so effective. The author has really done a thorough job of research as the 36 pages of notes attest. It is difficult to see how anyone could have prevailed as PM in May 1940--but this book gives us some important insights into Churchill and how he was able to do it.

Although this book was published as a tie-in to the movie coming out shortly, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the writing and the in-depth discussion of the cabinet discussions regarding whether the United Kingdom would negotiate with the Germans. From a logical and reasonable perspective, Foreign Minister Halifax was right. There was no hope of Britain defeating Germany alone; the only chance was to hold out long enough and hope that either the Americans and/or the Soviets would enter the conflict (no sure thing in the spring of 1940). Staying in the war would likely, and did in fact result in, Britain being bankrupt. It also resulted in thousands of deaths, both military and civilian. However, Churchill had the wisdom to understand the cost of an armistice with Germany; Britain would be a vassal state of the Germans, and the war would have ended with either a Nazi-dominated Europe or a Soviet-dominated Europe. This book does an excellent job in explaining how Winston Churchill saved Western civilization.

As a movie tie-in I did not expect this short book to be very good. I was wrong. Author Anthony Mccarten has done his homework and produced an easy to read step by step account of those dark days in May 1940 when England stood alone against the evil of Nazi Germany. Germany had just invaded Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg. France would soon fall and the British Expeditionary Force of almost 400,000 troops would have to retreat from Dunkirk to the British isles and safety. The man and the moment met as Churchill proved to be the greatest prime minister in English history. He marshalled the English language to battle and went to war with his great patriotic oratory and keen desire to defeat Germany. He was not well respected by many when he took over the leadership having been known for the horrific battle of Gallipoli. his refusal to grant India dominion status and his Tory views on a variety of issues. Churchill was a Victorian in attitude and policy. Nevertheless, he overcame Lord Halifax the appeasement minded gentleman who wanted to bring Great Britain to a negotiated peace with the Nazis. Churchill seriously considered a peace treaty with Nazi Germany but rejected it. England would never surrender! The author allows us to see the terrible burden imposed on WSC and his brilliant and brave decision to fight on alone against Nazis hordes wanting to evade England.Churchill is one of history's greatest champions of freedom and is this reviewer's favorite hero along with Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt. I am glad I bought this book and learned from it. Well recommended
